Hi, friends! I'm back with another edition of This Is Life where I recap a full day in my life. It's been awhile since I did one of these. It's meant to show you what I do and eat on a daily basis. This recap is from last Saturday.
7:30 a.m. - Wake up. This is the latest I've slept in in a really long time and it feels glorious. The guy is already up making breakfast. I jump in the shower and get ready.
8:00 a.m. - We eat eggs and turkey bacon which we share from one plate because we're fancy. We've been dating 4 months and it's already come to this. Should I be worried? Lol
8:30 a.m. - I leave for the gym and he leaves to see patients (he's a physical therapist). I normally do a long walk on Saturdays, but it's too hot out already and I let myself sleep in so the gym it is!
9:00 a.m. - Doing circuit training with my favorite toys. It's leg day! Lots of bridges, squats and lunges. Something I can do so much better since my hip surgery. I love body sport resistance bands for toning and strengthening vs using machines. I also use an olympic weightlifting bar to do compound leg work then finish with 20 minute intervals on the elliptical.
10:30 a.m. - Pop into Trader Joe's for a few essentials. I'm really into lettuce lately. Of all varieties. I have a salad and cucumber with almost every meal. No idea why?
10:45 a.m. - Grab a tall Starbucks iced latte with almond milk and head home.
11:00 a.m. - Home! Refuel with Vega clean while I unpack and throw lunch in the oven.
11:45 a.m. - Work while lunch cooks and munch on a raspberry lemon quinoa muffin. My Starbucks tastes like poo. I throw it out. I should have made my own at home, or told them not to put whatever funky stuff they add to it.
Since reducing processed food and sugar from my diet two years ago, I'm super sensitive and can immediately detect them in foods. This is something I teach in my virtual coaching course!
12:00 p.m. - Lunch is ready. I'm starving! Roasted broccoli and meal prepped chimichurri chicken which I hope to share with you soon. And yes, I ate ALL that broccoli.
12:30 p.m. - I eat lunch while finishing homework. I'm down to one class. Social media! It's hysterical how easy it is for me. Only 3 weeks until graduation. Thank goodness!
1:30 p.m. - Finish homework and I'm dying from lack of caffeine and too much sleep. Whenever I sleep too much I get even more tired. So weird.
1:45 p.m. - I make an iced green tea with my favorite brown rice green tea and Trader Joe's stevia. I know some stevia brands taste really bitter, but this one isn't bitter at all. I love it!
3:00 p.m. - Still working powering through blog work and emails. Ugh. I'm so far behind because I was sick last week. Lately I feel like I'm not getting anything done or doing anything that well. Not to mention I don't get as much time away from the computer as I would like to. It's something I'm working on, but a tough balance.
3:15 p.m. - Hungry so I grab an apple and a Kind granola bar.
3:30 p.m. - The guy texts asking what I want for dinner. Have to admit, he's great about taking on kitchen duty when I'm busy. We decide on grilling at the pool and swimming. He heads to Target for food and I continue working.
4:30 p.m. - I stop working to pack and start freaking out about wearing a swimsuit. I'm dying inside hoping one will fit. I try them all on and they all fit. Whew!
5:30 p.m. - I'm back at his place. We get food assembled and ready to take to the grill. The weather's gorgeous!
6:30 p.m. - We eat delicious grilled chicken with salsa, salads with cucumber, tater tots and strawberries by the pool. Then we decide we're too tired for swimming.
7:30 p.m. - We clean up, change into comfy clothes and watch the Jason Bourne movie.
9:00 p.m. - I fall asleep half way through the movie. I'm so tired! He jokes we're so old. I remind him, we're not 20/30 something anymore.
And this is life.

That iced green tea sounds so good, and that's wonderful that squats and lunges are so much easier for you since your hip surgery. <3
