My weight loss transformation

I struggled with my weight my whole life and it took years to figure it out on my own. In 2009, I lost 80 pounds by walking and slowly changing my eating habits which included eating a cookie a day! 

Mindset is the missing ingredient in the vast majority of weight loss programs. Mindset is so important to long term success and is a key component of my program.

Weight loss isn't about the number on the scale. It's about losing FAT! 


After 35, women begin to lose muscle mass due to hormone changes. If you only focus on exercising more and eating less, this causes stress on the body leading to hormone changes that cause more fat storage and increased cravings.


Cravings are not the problem. They're a symptom of a larger problem with nutrition, lifestyle, mindset and your fat storing and hunger hormones (leptin, insulin, ghrelin). While the number on the scale might decrease, it's likely you're losing precious muscle not fat. 


Things that DON'T matter for weight loss are eating Keto/Whole30/Paleo, carb-cycling, Intermittent Fasting, eating protein bars, putting butter in your coffee, doing tons of cardio and drinking cold-pressed juice - don't drink your calories!


Things that DO matter for weight loss are balanced hunger and energy hormones (insulin, leptin, ghrelin, cortisol), moving more, sleeping 7-8 hours nightly, stress management, a slight calorie deficit, eating more nutritious food - primarily protein and produce and positive MINDSET.

Meal Plans

Are you a woman who already eats healthy, but needs more structure and ideas of what to eat? These meal plans are gluten free, low in sugar, low fat, high fiber, high protein and have a moderate amount of carbohydrates.


If you have done multiple diets in the past, throw in the towel after a bad day or episode, have inconsistent eating patterns, restrict etc. then a meal plan is not the solution for you.


The behavior of dieting, restricting and overeating must be addressed in a coaching setting. Listen to this podcast episode to hear if a meal plan is a good fit for you.


I do NOT offer custom meal plans as those do not teach you how to build long-term healthy habits, how to make your own meals, make choices outside of the home and to stop beating yourself up when you have a bad day.


Meal Plans are only a temporary solution to get you started or to give someone who is a healthy eater already temporary structure.

I came to Megan Olson for one-on-one coaching when other diets didn’t seem to work any longer and I wasn’t feeling very healthy.
