My Weight Loss Philpsophy

I believe in SIMPLE and SCIENCE. Nutrition and weight loss are not about cutting calories drastically, cutting food groups, insane workouts, supplements, or relying on willpower.

This simply does not work in the long term. It leads to obsessive behaviors with food and vicious cycles of dieting.

I empower you to fuel your body with real food to boost your energy, reduce inflammation, and kill cravings while counseling you on lifestyle habits and powerful mindset strategies.

Mindset is the missing ingredient in many weight loss programs. Mindset and self-talk are so important to long-term success and is a key component of this program along with eating for your metabolism.

Hormonal Weight Loss

Many women have been chronic dieting for most of their lives. This eat less and move more approach, has resulted in metabolism to down-regulate, hunger hormones to increase and stress hormone to be too high or too low.

This makes it extremely difficult to lose weight and frustrating, which is why it's so important to stop dieting and restricting.

After 35, women begin to lose muscle mass due to hormone changes. Stress hormone also increases leading into menopause. If you only focus on exercising more and eating less, this causes more stress on the body leading to more fat storage and increased cravings.

Cravings are not the real problem. They're a symptom of a larger problem with nutrition, lifestyle, mindset and your fat storing and hunger hormones (leptin, insulin, ghrelin, cortisol). While the number on the scale might decrease, it's likely you're losing precious muscle not fat.

Things that DO matter for weight loss are balanced hunger and energy hormones (insulin, leptin, ghrelin, cortisol), moving more, sleeping 7-8 hours nightly, stress management, a slight calorie deficit, eating more food that's well balanced with all 3 foods groups (protein, carbs and fat) and improve your mindset, self-talk, and restrictive behaviors around food you've learned from dieting.

In this 6-month weight loss program, I teach you to focus on the actions, mindsets, and habits that DO matter for weight loss after 35. I will work with you to identify and break those patterns while teaching you how to measure consistency in realistic way in your journey.

“6-months feels like a long time.” If you’ve been struggling with food, your weight, body image and chronic dieting for 10, 20, 30 years then 6-months is a very short time frame. The 6-month commitment is by design because I know through my experience as a nutritionist working with women for 11 years, this is the least amount of time it takes to work on sustainable habits and lasting results.

“I don’t have the money.” I understand budget is a concern for everyone, which is why I offer payment plans and accept flexible spending account payments.     Initial evaluation to understand your current lifestyle, challenges, baseline habits, and goals.
  • Phase 2: Inner Mindset Work, Habit Formation & Personalized Nutrition
    Tailored one-to-one coaching sessions to build personal nutrition and exercise habits gradually over time including movement, exercise, optimizing protein and fiber, balancing meals with nutrient-dense foods for your hormones that fits your personal preference, helping you build a healthy relationship with all foods, fixing cravings and emotional eating. At the same time, doing the inner work to build an empowered mindset by identifying self-sabotaging patterns, all-or-nothing patterns, and self-limiting beliefs and using cognitive behavioral strategies to change them
  • Phase 3: Fat Loss Strategy
    A personalized strategy for losing body fat without depriving yourself, improving body composition, and learning to nourish your body with the right amount of food and nutrients while seeing results. Regular coaching sessions to monitor data, and progress, adjust plans, and keep your mindset on track.
  • Phase 4: Maintenance Strategy
    A personalized strategy for exiting fat loss into maintenance. Regular coaching sessions to learn maintenance and equip yourself with the tools needed to maintain your weight loss until you’re 85+ years old.

    Will you be coaching me or someone else? – I coach all my clients personally.

    Will you be giving me specific protein and fiber goals? – Yes, I provide you with personalized nutrition guidelines including protein and fiber.

    Do you have an app or platform where materials are delivered? – No, I do not have an app or platform. I provide you with the videos, PDF’s, and private client podcasts directly.

    Do I have to track calories? –No, this program is personalized to you, and I will work with you on the right approach to reach your goals. Some of my clients track calorie and some do not.

    Do you work with men? – Currently, I work with a limited number of men. Please email megan@skinnyfitalicious.com if you are a man interested in weight loss coaching.

    Do you work with women under 35? – Yes, I do work with clients who are in their 20s and early 30s.

    Do you work with women who have less than 20 pounds to lose? – Yes, I do work with clients who have less than 20 pounds to lose.

    Do you give meal plans? – No, I give you nutritional guidelines for meals and work with you to create meals with foods you enjoy eating so that you can execute your nutrition habits for life!

    Do you work with vegans & vegetarians? – Yes.

    Can I sign up if I live outside the U.S.? – Although my coaching is done virtually, I am only accepting clients in Canada and the U.S.

    How much is the program? - Pricing depends on whether you are a fit for this program and the payment option you choose. Schedule a consultation with me so I can do an assessment on what you need to determine if this program is suitable for you or if you need to be referred to another expert. If you are a fit, we will discuss pricing. It is NEVER a waste of my time to meet with you.

    Do you offer payment plans? – Yes, I offer a pay in full plan which saves you about $300 up front as well as a monthly payment plan.

    What is the cancellation/refund policy? – All coaching sales are final after 30 days. Within 30 days of starting the program, you may cancel your program. There is a cancellation fee of $550 within 30 days.

    How do I get started? – Schedule a weight loss consultation with me to discuss your goals and what's been keeping you stuck. If you are a good fit, I will share with you my plan to help you reach your goals and sustain them.
