You Guys!!! I made you breakfast!
REALLY. I did! It's here, a Berry Hemp Smoothie Bowl. It's waiting for you. Calling your name.
COME EAT ME!
If there's one meal I enjoy making for others, it's breakfast. I don't know what it is about breakfast, but everything about it makes me happy. Don't get me wrong. I will offer you lunch, dinner and snacks if you show up at my door but there's nothing like a good MEAN and CLEAN breakfast.
Now that the weather is warmer I've been craving lighter and cooler foods. I usually drink a protein powder shake after my workouts. Lately I've been getting fancy by mixing my protein powder with frozen fruit and Greek yogurt into smoothie bowls. Have you tried it? OMG. You need to, it is so Y-U-M!
Now when it comes to protein powder. I am picky with a capital P. Most are overly refined, overly processed, have the good fat removed, and are loaded with sugar, additives, preservatives and who knows what else.
Truthfully, there are one or two protein powders I allow in my body. The new Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Smoothie is one that I recently discovered and love!
I've been a long time lover of hemp heart seeds. In the nutrition world, they're basically the FOOD of nutrition. Not only are they high in protein, but they're an excellent source of omega-3's which most people are severely deficient in.
So when Manitoba took those marvelous, nutrition packed seeds and added them to a protein powder I knew it would be something I'd love.
What I also love about this hemp protein mix is the greens added to it! Organic spinach, kale and broccoli is already in the mix so you don't have to add them yourself. It's very convenient especially when you have dying spinach in your fridge. WHOOPS!
The new Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Smoothie comes in three flavors, mixed berry, chocolate and vanilla chai and if you would like to give it a try Manitoba is offering my readers a 15% their purchase with promo code hempsmoothielaunch16. It expires April 30, 2016 so hurry up and stock up.
Now who's coming over for breakfast?
Berry Hemp Smoothie Bowl
My favorite part of this smoothie bowl is that it's higher protein. That means you won't be hungry two seconds after enjoying it. I teach you how to put your food together in Master Your Cravings to avoid the sugar crash that commonly happens to people when they eat smoothies.
This one has Greek yogurt plus hemp protein upping the protein, nutrients and making it more filling! Of course, this smoothie is lightened up as well. It's easy to make a smoothie with too much sugar, but it's just as easy to make one with too many calories.

I've been looking for a protein powder for pre-workout energy, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go whey based or not. Hemp based protein seems like it might be a good option, especially because of all of the nutritional benefits it has. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

I'm personally not a big fan of whey. So many of them have a thousand additives in the ingredients. I'm a big fan of plant based protein. I like this hemp one or Vega Clean (chocolate flavor).
