Homemade baked Muesli Banana Hemp Bars made with bananas, applesauce, hemp and muesli granola. A soon to be staple in your weekly meal prep, these easy snack bars are ones the whole family will love! Gluten Free + Low Calorie + Vegan
Happy New Year! It's hard to believe it's January 1st. I have to admit part of me is relieved the holidays are over. I wasn't really in the mood for them this year and just wanted to sleep through them. While it's nice to slow down and relax, I feel like it comes at a cost. The holidays induce a slob kabob behavior {<- technical term}.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun lounging around in pajamas marathon watching Netflix all day but that habit is an easy one to fall into and is a hard one to get out of. Despite my no excuses schedule, I find it difficult jumping out of that slump which is why I stick to my routine as much as possible even over the holidays.
Because when you stay consistent with something, its a lot easier to follow through on your goals. I say this as many are likely hitting the gym getting a jump start on their New Years resolutions which by the way, I don't believe in.
Don't get me wrong, I am cheering for you (you got this!) but I think if you want to make a change, you should just make it. Not wait for a certain day or put it off until something happens in your life. Waiting makes you vulnerable to either never making the change or not making it a life long habit.
As you begin tackling your new goals, I want you to remember that 92% of people give up on their goals within the first weeks of January and remember it takes time to adapt to change. It took me two years of working out consistently every day before it became my new "normal." Keep pushing yourself, be consistent and if you fall off the wagon get back on.
To help kickstart your goals this new year, I've created this delicious baked Muesli Banana Hemp Bar recipe for you. This simple recipe can be made in 30 minutes with every day ingredients, contains no refined sugar and is low calorie too. So make yourself these bars weekly as motivation to start anew or stick to your goals because good food equals motivation!

Nan says
This looks delicious! I put the recipe into myfitnesspal and it comes to 190 calories. Do you know what the difference could be? Also, how do you prepare the baking sheet? Looks like you use parchment paper?
Megan says
Hi Nan! The calorie difference could be anything. It really depends on the ingredients you use. I scan mine into my LoseIt app, but everyone uses different things. I would bet either you put large bananas (I used small) or you entered regular maple syrup (I use sugar free which has very few calories). I did use parchment paper for mine to make it easier to remove them from the pan.

I've never had muesli, but I love oats, so I'm sure I'd love it! And I adore a good banana baked good 🙂
Megan says
Oh then you will love these Ellen! Regular oats would works just toss in some raisins or any dried fruit.

They're magical goodness. I think I use hemp hearts more than chia seeds.

I'm off crutches. I'm just waiting for you to catch up with me! By then, I'll probably be going under the knife for my surgery.

O yum! These look fantastic dear! I love that they're baked too and made with oats which is what I always go for! I'm not into the sugar heavy dried fruit bars and bites people make!
Megan says
Thanks dear! I'm not into dried fruit much easier. It's just as bad as eating a candy bar. Happy New Year Rebecca!
