Healthy Holiday Salad! This colorful salad is packed with fresh produce and dressed with an anti-inflammatory turmeric apple cider vinegar dressing. A holiday side salad that's versatile and nutritious! Vegan + Paleo + Gluten Free + Low Calorie
Holidays are around the corner! If you're adulting like me, then you are pulling together a menu of side dishes and desserts to make for your home or to bring to another's home.
While I love traditional holiday menu items, I always crave a salad to balance out the hearty and filling dishes.
This Healthy Holiday Salad is made with minimal ingredients yet boasts so much flavor. Made with ribbons of red Swiss chard, radishes, red grapes, oranges and pecans, it's just the right balance of sweet and pungent flavors. It screams holiday with its natural colors; making it a festive addition to any holiday menu.
It's drizzled with a homemade apple cider vinegar dressing with a boost of anti-inflammatory from turmeric. I love adding a touch of turmeric and it's something most people won't be able to detect. Of course, you can always make your own dressing if you like.
The produce I used for this Healthy Holiday Salad was locally grown and purchased at Walmart. That’s right, Walmart offers locally grown produce in stores; that’s producee that is sold in the same state as the farms it was grown in. For me, that means it was grown somewhere in the state of Arizona, and I’m happy knowing I'm supporting local farmers!
Until recently, I didn't know Walmart sold locally grown produce, but in fact, at my local Walmart, I was surprised to find a large variety of fresh produce.
This makes it easier to make healthy choices when you know you're having a positive impact not only on your health, but on the community, you live in.
And Walmart backs its fresh produce with a 100 percent money-back guarantee.
If customers are not completely satisfied with Walmart’s produce, they can bring back their receipt for a full refund. No questions asked and no need to bring back the produce.
How to make the most delicious Healthy Holiday Salad
The key to unlocking the flavors of this salad is getting fresh ingredients from Walmart. And, if you're tight on time this holiday season try Walmart's grocery pickup service. You can order fresh ingredients online and pick them up the same day.
A big timesaver during the busy holiday season!
Next freeze the grapes. Remove them from the freezer before prepping the salad to eat. Then run the frozen grapes under hot water a few minutes and slice.
They will be extra sweet from being in the freezer. It's like a freezer marinade!
Last, prep the dressing a day or two in advance, then leave in the refrigerator. The spices and vinegar will really pop when you add it to the salad.
Then eat up! That's the best part, right? But I wouldn't tell people it's healthy and the anti-inflammatory mumbo jumbo. Instead, tell them it will keep their body and community strong!
