I admit it. I'm obsessed. I'm an addict. A confessed fitness apparel aficionado. If there were a shopaholics anonymous for fitness geeks like me, I'd be the first to say "sign me up!" My love for fitness apparel has grown so much space has become a real issue. Activewear is rapidly taking over my closet, dressers and drawers. Move over jeans, sweaters, shorts, tanks & shirts because fitness is the latest trend! Fitness threads sure have come a long way since I started working out in the 90's when I was going to the YMCA. Back then, it was boring boy shorts and basketball t-shirts. You were lucky if you could find running shoes that weren't white or black. Adding a headband was considered "fashionable". It was really to keep the sweat from rolling down your face. Now it's all about bright colors, sparkles, mesh and patterns.
Today's fitness things are edgy and anything short of fashionable. In fact it's so fashionable, most people are swapping it for everyday wear. Let's be real. You can't beat the comfort of cozy yoga pants and they hold things together, if you know what I mean. That becomes important as we age! I would wear my bedazzling fitness threads everyday if I could. They're soft and more comfortable than regular apparel. Not like a pair of jeans that I want to peel off minutes after putting them on. As with anything, fitness apparel does cost money. I could easily spend my entire paycheck just buying fitness things. It's expensive to get cute. Since I can't buy everything to my little heart's desire, a girl can always dream. So today I'm sharing a few fitness things I'm crushing on lately.

I think I need someone like you in my life especially when it comes to fitness fashion. I might be the definition of 'cheapskate' and 'cheesy' when it comes to my fitness fashion. I do like going to other blogger's blogs and thinking, "I wish I looked that fashionable when I work out."
Megan says
Maybe that's my calling Emily, to be a fitness stylist? Haha! It doesn't matter what you look like when you workout as long as you workout.

I love a good workout outfit! Just wished the stuff I liked wasn't so expensive!
Megan says
Me too! I'm hoping the Lulu outlet opening near my house is more reasonable.
Julie says
So now I want a pair of Birkenstocks... :/

It's amazing how many stylish options there are now. Wearing black leggings used to be IT. Now there is every color and design that you can imagine.
Megan says
Right? It makes it so much harder to choose!

As much as I do love fitness gear I actually don't buy any of the super expensive stuff (minus shoes - although I will buy out a previous model if I liked them and it saves money). I have a tall dresser dedicated to fitness clothing plus some storage containers and as of mid last year I could not justify spending until I wore some of it out.
I live in dresses even on the weekend running errands you'll find me in a dress and flats/sperrys - or now in summer I do love me some shorts! And I refuse to wear sneakers unless I am working out. Total girly girl over here.
Megan says
I love that you just called yourself a girly girl. I'm a boy when it comes to fitness, but outside the gym I'm all girl! I like your motto to not buy anything else until you've worn it out. I need to do that!

Well clearly you know I relate! It's hard when cute comfy clothes are thrown in our face every minute of the day, who can say no?
Megan says
That's exactly my problem, I just can't say no!
