Hi Guys!
I have some goodies for you guys today!
Manitoba Harvest hemp hearts are one of my favorite ways to sneak in extra health into my foods. Raw hemp is a SuperFood, one of the potent available. #Hemphearts contain a laundry list of vitamins and minerals some of which include essential fatty acids, easy to digest proteins, zinc, fiber, iron, carotene, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, enzymes, vitamins B1, B2, B6, D and E and a whole bunch more. A cool fact...raw hemp has more protein, omegas and less carbs than chia or flax seeds.
In addition to the vitamin and mineral punch these little guys give, they offer a wide array of health benefits too. Increased energy, lowered LDL cholesterol & blood pressure, improved heart, organ & immunity function, reduced inflammation and improved muscle recovery after fitness. Cool fact number two...they can be eaten by those who cannot tolerate nuts, dairy or gluten.
My first experience with Manitoba Harvest was at Blend this year. I was always cha cha cha chia girl before, but jumped on the hemp wagon after trying these. If you haven't tried hemp before, they're similar to a sesame seed or pine nut. You may have noticed a couple a few recipes I whipped up with them. Those blueberry hemp flaxseed muffins are my highest viewed recipe. Obviously hemp hearts draw a crowd.

As I've been seeing these going around other blogs as well, I've been wanting to try some! I think I'd make some cookies. Or try adding the hemp hearts to a pie crust.
