Sharing my favorite best natural hair products with you today!
As I've gotten older and with dealing with my Hashimoto's disease, I've put a lot more consideration into my skincare and hair routine. Before I was diagnosed, I would grab whatever was cheapest at Target, Costco or Sephora without thinking about the ingredients in those products.
Did you know most shampoos and conditioners have gluten in them? Yep! Anything you put on your hair and skin does seep into the body. After all, your skin is your largest organ.
Even scarier is that there's 80,000 chemicals on the market today in skincare, makeup and hair products. Most of these chemicals do not have safety data and go onto the market unregulated. No on knows what's in them, not even the FDA.
This is the scary truth I've learned about the beauty industry since joining Beautycounter (make sure you're on my email list to get discounts and samples). One of my major motivations for joining them was that they're not just selling beauty products. They're changing the industry. The last time a federal law was passed regarding chemicals in skincare products was 1938. That's insane!
We have to be aware of not only the ingredients in our food, but also the everyday products we use. If you're not doing it already, use the ThinkDirty and EWG apps to check the chemicals in your products.
Today I'm sharing the best natural hair products I use regularly! I have incredibly thick and long hair so taming the best is always a process. Not to mention, I teach many cycle classes so my hair's always a sweaty mop after leaving the gym. Yes, these are more expensive but my body is worth every penny and yours is too!
Best Natural Hair Products
Primally Pure Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is a way of life for me. I teach many cycle classes during the week and I'm always running from them to coaching clients. Primally Pure dry shampoo is hands down the best natural one I've ever tried.
The ingredients are simple and they do have options for light and dark hair. If you want to try it, you can use code SkinnyFit for a discount. I also use PP's deodorant and love it!
Beautycounter Daily Shampoo
I wash my hair two or three times a week and have thick, long hair. I'm very picky about the shampoo and conditioners I use, but Beautycounter Daily Shampoo has been the best by far. I've tried MANY natural shampoos and found they gave me frizzy hair. This keeps the frizz down without leaving build up.
The conditioner is nice too. It's very silky and moisturizing! The conditioner I use most is...
Andalou Naturals Argan Oil & Shea Conditioner
I use Beautycounter's Daily Shampoo and Andalou Naturals Conditioner. It gives my otherwise dry, stringy hair a softer and smooth texture.
Beautycounter Body Oil
After I wash and condition, I run a touch of body oil through my hair. I'm convinced this is what prevents my hair from getting crazy frizzy during the winter.
Enovvia Natural Hairspray
I LOVE this stuff! I'm very sensitive to the fragrances in hairsprays and for years I avoided using them because they gave me such bad headaches. This Enovvia hairspray is fragrance free and free from the typical chemicals you find in hairspray.
