My swim cap broke. 🙁 Monday morning I jumped in the pool, put on my swim cap and it snapped off my head like a balloon and split in half. What?!?
I guess my noggin is too big or something. My Mom teased me as a child that my head was too big to fit into the hats she would buy to coordinate with my outfits. Maybe she was onto something. Do you think my head's too big?
Yes, I took a selfie in the bathroom.
I swim a lot these days as therapy for my foot injury. To maintain my fitness during my recovery, I take spin class, swim and weight train. I only started swimming 3 weeks ago so there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why my swim cap broke. Mom went to the store & exchanged my speedo cap. When I took it out of the case, it was ripped in half. Seriously???
So I ordered this new one by TYR. In pink, of course! "What can I say...pink's my signature color" - Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias.
Frankly, the only reason I wear a swim cap is to keep my hair out of my face and protect my hair from the chemicals in the pool. One of the many things I learned when I started swimming was that swim caps do not keep your hair dry. Why hasn’t someone invented one that does yet?
Why do swimmers wear swim caps?
1. Assist with performance & mobility in the water
2. Protect hair from chlorine
3. Keep hair dry (yeah right)
4. Keep hair pulled back

There are a couple of other reasons that people wear swim caps. The first one is that at some pools, it is compulsory in order to keep the pool clean from hair. The other reason is that in colder areas, swimmers don a cap to try to keep the heat in the body.

Good luck to you, I am in Physical Therapy too, due to a herniated disc, but it's fun, I learn something new about my body everyday!
