Thank you Village Harvest for sponsoring this post.  Every day Village Harvest is planting seeds of change and growing possibilities, one bag of goodness at a time.

I’m excited to be sharing this cherry smoothie with you guys today! It’s one of my favorite ways to eat breakfast that isn’t eggs, and you know how much I love my eggs. But here’s the thing, breakfast is one of the biggest challenges for my clients and readers.

This Cherry Quinoa Smoothie is layered with quinoa & topped with a cherry smoothie. Mix the two together for a crunchy protein-packed breakfast!

It’s one of the most frequently asked questions. What can I have for breakfast that’s easy to take with me on the go? What can I make in 10-minutes? What can I eat that isn’t eggs. Well, you can put a checkmark next to all those questions because this breakfast does this and more!

When it comes to breakfast, it’s easy to get caught up in the traditional eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, oatmeal rollercoaster. I tell my weight loss clients all the time to have dinner leftovers for breakfast if they don’t like breakfast foods, or do something simple like a cherry smoothie recipe to make it simple.

I layered the bottom of the smoothie with the delicious blend and stir it into the smoothie when I’m ready to eat.

I cook quinoa ahead of time then blending up this healthy cherry smoothie the morning I’m ready to eat it.

If that doesn’t work for you, you can alternatively blend the smoothie ahead of time, store in the refrigerator then marry it with the quinoa when you’re ready to eat. Either way works and it really is a breeze!

Oh, and I forgot to mention this smoothie recipe with cherries isn’t just for breakfast either. You can have it any time of day. It makes a refreshing, filling and healthy anytime treat.
