I’m not a fan of smoothies. The ones you buy in the store anyway. They’re loaded with added sugar and you know drinking your calories isn’t my idea of health or fullness. Drinking your nutrients on the other hand? Well…I can get down with that!

Especially when you combine nutrient dense foods like pineapple and avocado! You get one nutrient packed smoothie that tastes like dessert on a tropical island. Are you in? Good! Let me show you how easy it is to make this Piña Colada Avocado Smoothie!

Piña Colada Avocado Smoothie

Now before you judge…I wanna tell you something. I am not a smoothie person but this recipe, I really surprised myself with! I was testing different pineapple recipes when an avocado accidentally went into the wrong blender. The pineapple blender! So, I decided to go for it and blend it up with some milk and vanilla extract and boy, was that the best mistake I ever made!

The base is Dole frozen pineapple, which creates a naturally sweet base and makes a wonderful snack on its own. Not only is pineapple high in Vitamin C and manganese, but it’s also an important antioxidant.

Added to that sweet pineapple base is avocado which is full of fiber, healthy fats, and makes this smoothie creamy, dreamy and thick like a milkshake. Oh, so good!

Together these two powerhouses make one exquisitely, tasty and nutritious snack! With just 4 ingredients, you can easily whip this up for a snack or even breakfast.

Helpful Tips

Here’s a snack hack for you! Blend the ingredients together for this smoothie ahead of time and pour into an ice cube tray then set in the freezer. Whenever you’ve got a snack attack coming on, grab two ice cubes, blend them up and sip on this smoothie goodness!

Trouble finding frozen pineapple? Ironically, I had trouble finding pineapple where I live. If you can’t find frozen pineapple, buy Dole canned pineapple chunks and freeze them a day before blending up your smoothie. Either way you won’t be disappointed with this goodie. Cheers friends!
