It’s time! Time for summer celebrations and all things strawberry. My favorite time of year! But before we dive into treats, a quick announcement. Next week I will be taking time off from the blog. There will be no new recipes until July 9th.
In the 4 years I’ve been blogging, I’ve never taken a full week off from posting. But in order for me to continue delivering high quality content and recipes to you, I need take a week to plan content for the remainder of the year and fix a few annoying things on the blog that are rather time consuming.

Energy bites are my favorite snacks to have on hand year-round. This summer flavored recipe is great for packing up and taking with you on trips or for having in the refrigerator for snack attacks.
I find having healthy snacks like this one around prevents me from going nuts eating carbs. They keep my blood sugar balanced so I’m not craving salty and sweet things. Don’t get me wrong, I love chips, crackers and cookies but I don’t make them a regular staple in my diet. They’re more of an occasional treat.

What’s in them? Glad you asked!
Oat flour, chia seeds and nut butter. Carbs + protein + fat! Making them a well balanced snack to tame sugar cravings.
Maple syrup and lemon sweeten the deal along with freeze dried strawberries. Got my freeze dried strawberries at Trader Joe’s and chopped them up roughly before tossing in the batter.
They make a tasty summer time treat to add to your weekly meal plan!
