Spruce up your coffee with this Skinny Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer! Naturally sweetened, low in calories and dairy free, this healthy alternative to store creamers is free of preservatives and artificial ingredients. Gluten Free + Low Calorie + Vegan + Paleo
Hi, my name is Megan and I am a mocha-colic. Well, used to be. A venti cafe mocha a day was my norm for years, until my 80 pound weight loss when I started reading food labels. It was then I realized I was drinking 400 calories, or basically a meal in pretty cup. Gosh, it was good but really it was all the sugar that made it so good.
A few months ago, I took a sip of a friend's cafe mocha to see if it was still all the glory and joy I remembered. Truth is I thought I was going to pass out from the sugar high. It was too much for my poor body.
You don't realize how nasty tasting processed foods are until you've been off them awhile. Actually, it's scary how quickly your taste buds can detect artificial ingredients and preservatives after you've been eating "clean" for awhile.
I say clean because I still let a cookie or two or three sneak in here and there, and while they may be made with healthier ingredients that's still not what I'd consider 100% clean eating.
But truthfully, life is no fun without treats which is I take the time to make healthier versions of foods I've always loved. It prevents me from gaining a bunch of weight, having an immune reaction and basically, keeps me sane.
Since my Skinny Peppermint Mocha is one of my most popular recipes, I decided to take the recipe to the next level and transform it into a a real life coffee creamer! As in, you can store it in the fridge and use it anytime.
Guys, have you read the labels on flavored store bought coffee creamers? High fructose corn syrup (which causes weight gain and inflammation), artificial ingredients, and who know what else.
Unfortunately, your favorite coffee shop is using many of these ingredients too. They're okay here and there, but not every day. Step away from the foods that have ingredients you don't recognize!
This Skinny Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer is SUPER EASY to make. Like 5 seconds to plop everything in a blender and two seconds to blend.
That's all! Store in the fridge and you've got homemade coffee creamer for a week or two ready for whenever you need your fix. Who doesn't have time for that?
Because it's the holidays, this Skinny Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer is loaded with minty freshness. Great for digestion and calming the body of all the holiday stress.
If peppermint isn't your thing, you can substitute almond or vanilla extract to make it a skinny mocha coffee creamer. You won't hurt me feelings! But you will hurt my feelings if you keep buying the fake stuff.
This Skinny Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer is naturally sweetened and dairy free. You can use any milk to make it. I highly recommend you get chocolate extract and espresso powder to use in this. It gives the creamer an extra deep, rich chocolatey flavor. Worth the splurge and they both last a really long time!
Once you taste how amazing the flavors are, you're never gonna go back to the store bought stuff. But remember healthy food tastes bad at first, so give yourself time to adjust and it will happen! Now, who's ready to go on a coffee date with me?

Hi!i am so excited to try this! Peppermint mocha creamer is my favorite and i am just running out of the stocks i bought over the holidays. I was actually just wondering if the espresso powder is necessary for the flavor? i am not familiar with it and need to keep my caffeine intake down since I am pregnant. Thank you!,,
Megan says
It's not necessary, but does add incredible flavor. Espresso powder does not have that much caffeine, but if it's a concern then omit it for now.
Mandi says
I wanted to see if you could substitute the coconut sugar with swerve or swerve confectioners.
Megan says
Yes, you should be able to substitute it.

I never think it is ever too early in the year for a delicious Peppermint Mocha and I love the idea of your recipe. I know this is an older post but hopefully you will see this. Can the Coconut Sugar be replaced with Erythritol or Stevia? I find that Coconut Sugar is still fairly high on the glycemic index and would spike my blood sugar.
Thanks!
Megan says
Coconut sugar is actually very low GI, but you can sub what you want.

I've been eating way too many cookies and I feel like my workout are suffering and just feel blah. Time to not eat them every day for a little while haha
Megan says
Yeah the treats do affect you in more ways than the scale. I try not to have more than one a day, but this time of year that's a challenge!

Girl, we are on the same page today! I've got peppermint on my brain, I can't believe I waited this long to buy peppermint extract. The funny thing is I used to drink skinny peppermint mochas from college all the time, now I just can't do it, all I taste is chemical peppermint flavored water.
Megan says
I feel the same. Once you stop eating/drinking processed foods, you can immediately detect them and they taste gross.
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
I kind of want to just put this over ice and drink it 😀
Megan says
I read this at the gym this morning and bursted out laughing. I swear you should do stand up.
Blair says
Let's have coffee together! You can make the creamer! 🙂
I've been loving all things peppermint mocha recently -- including a smoothie and my own peppermint flavored coffee. Now I want to lay mouth on your creamer!
Megan says
HAHA...oh how fun would a coffee date be!
