Healthy Italian Dressing is a low calorie, quick and easy salad dressing recipe! Made with Mediterranean ingredients, this healthy dressing is a favorite! Gluten Free + Low Calorie + Low Carb
I'm a big fan of eating a salad a day and if you're one of my clients you know why! But what's a salad without a dressing?
Dressings are one of the most notably calorie dense foods and most store bought ones are made with highly inflammatory oils and added sugars.
But here's the secret about dressings you may not know. The healthy fat in a dressing is actually necessary for absorbing the nutrients in the vegetables. The key is using a dressing made with healthy ingredients and watching the portion size of the dressing aka measuring it out each time!
Healthy Italian Dressing
This Italian Dressing recipe is low calorie, made with simple ingredients that I'm willing to bet are in your kitchen and super easy to make in under 5 minutes. Let's do it!
What You Need
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Italian Seasoning
- Parmesan (optional - but highly recommended!)
How To Make Homemade Italian Dressing
To make your dressing, simply place the ingredients in a mason jar and shake, shake, shake then top your salad! I prefer a mason jar so you can easily store it in the refrigerator. If you're using the cheese, the dressing will stay good up to 7 days.
If you need to omit the cheese, nutritional yeast will work as a substitute. If you use the substitute, you can store the dressing up to 30 days in the refrigerator.
Enjoy your dressing over a dinner side salad, tomato cucumber salad, any salad you like or it's also incredibly delicious used with fish or chicken as a marinade. Enjoy!
