I have exciting news today. I’m going to Germany!
Work asked a few weeks back if I’d go to the Munich office with a group for training next month. At first, I was hesitant. My leg was so stiff, always in pain, cramping. It’s weak, I could barely walk up the stairs in my house. I couldn’t wrap my head around sitting on a plane for 18 hours and not having access to my therapists and doctors for my leg not to mention my gym for the strength training I’ve been doing to get stronger. I heard from others the hotel didn’t have a gym either.
I expressed my concerns at work and everyone encouraged me to go. A few people “talked” to me saying it would be good for me to go with everything I’ve been through. Even my PT said “you have to go” as she shook my shoulders.
The strange thing about life sometimes is that it’s like pieces of a puzzle with rough edges and odd shapes. Somehow those pieces, no matter how crazy they are, always come together. A few days after I agreed reluctantly to go, my leg started to come around. I can walk up stairs without pain. It’s like one day I woke up and felt “better” and 100% stronger. It’s good and bad because it means I’m more dangerous fitness wise. I’m still scared to death of hurting myself again. I wonder if that fear will ever go away.
So I’m going to Munich in a few weeks. Work hooked me up with the office gym so I can do my strength training while I’m there. Sometimes life comes together in the strangest ways. I haven’t decided yet what I’m doing about the blog. I’ll only be gone a week. I may post or I may not. If anyone’s interested in guest posting, let me know -> skinnyfitalicious@hotmail DOT com. Now let’s eat! P.S. Do you think I can sneak my muffins on the plane?
Breakfast. Butternut Squash Spinach Breakfast Bake with plantains. This is the last BSSBB until fall. I will miss you…
Snack. No bake raspberry almond granola bar.
Snack. Another green apple.
Dinner. Red pepper butternut squash rice & shrimp. This is one of my favorite dinners lately. I will still get to eat my butternut squash this summer.
Dessert. Quinoa brownie.
Have you been to Europe? If you could go, where would you go?
Lots of Health, Food & Love,
