Hey Hey Hey! Happy Wednesday!
So there’s a guy at my gym and no he’s not the one I went on a date with. That story is so random it deserves it’s own post. But this guy, I call him “crazy lifting guy.” I name people in my head like the mayor. Crazy lifting guy has quite the routine. First he’s a cardio junkie. I swear he could do cardio all day if he could, which seems strange to me for a man. He never looks like he’s working that hard though.
Every day crazy lifting guy does the same exact thing. He starts on the elliptical, runs on the treadmill, then takes an hour spin class. After cardio madness, he does what I call crazy lifting hence “crazy lifting guy”. He rolls around the machines & free weights like a bat out of hell and does everything super fast. His form is terrible, he doesn’t stabilize his core, he strains areas that shouldn’t be worked for the movement. I’ve seen him on the mat doing crunches & he’s not even working his abs. It looks like he’s gonna pull his head off. I honestly have no idea what he’s getting out of training so fast. I have to admit it’s entertaining to watch.
My advice to you. Don’t do what crazy lifting guy does. Slow down when you’re lifting, stabilize the core & perform the movement right. If you don’t have enough time, cut back on cardio. You’ll get better results and won’t get hurt. And that my muffins, is Megan’s fit tip of the week. Now time for THE FOOD.
Lunch. Winter kale butternut squash salad with spiced pecans the size of my head.
Just kidding. I really ate this one. My stomach probably would’ve exploded had I eaten that much kale at once.
Snack. Apple. Crunch.
Dinner. Grilled salmon & steamed broccoli. I took Mom to a new to me restaurant The White Chocolate Grill. A friend recommended it awhile back & I’ve been meaning to get there. We didn’t get any white chocolate, but the food sure was delicious. Restaurant pictures kill me. Would it be weird if I asked them to dim the lights?
Dessert. A quinoa brownie because it was Valentine’s Day. Ok, let’s be honest. No excuse was really needed to eat it. This will be dessert every night from now until forever.
