As you know, I was in Park City, Utah last weekend for Blend Retreat. A blogger & friend retreat. We stayed at the Hyatt Escala resort. I’ve stayed at this resort before during the winter and it is just as beautiful in the summer. This was the view from my room. I could wake up to this EVERY. DAY. #blend2014
The swag bag. I was blow away by the amount of swag we were given and this isn’t even half of it. I couldn’t fit everything in one picture. There was too much. We had amazing sponsors. Thank you to all of you
Friday night was cocktails and dinner. It was fancy so I dressed up. In pink of course. 🙂
Dinner was salad and pizza. Surprisingly unfit. Not what I expected at a blogger retreat where the majority of the bloggers are health and fitness focused. The pizza was cold and tasted like cardboard, but the salad was good.
And so were the deserts!
Saturday morning began with a cup of Green Mountain Coffee, one of our sponsors. I needed it to get through the night of no sleep and 7 am boot camp.
Boot camp was led by Onnit. It was an hour roundup of repeated squats, reverse lunges, burpees, jumping lunges, jump squats and push ups. The last portion focused on abs and a contest at the end to see what ladies could hold the longest planks. I lasted until 3 minutes.
Heather, the red head was one of the winners at 6 minutes!
After boot camp, was breakfast – eggs, chicken apple sausages and tofu eggs.
A few treats too, sponsored by Quest Nutrition.
At our tables, Quest Nutrition provided us a swag bag full of more goodies – 16 bars! That doesn’t count the extra box they’re sending us or the ones in our swag bag.
After breakfast, we headed to the expo. Several sponsors had expo’s setup for us to visit throughout the weekend. Silk made us delicious smoothies and let us snag the recipes too!
A gondola ride up the mountain for a hike led by Organic Valley and Joel Harper, NYC celebrity trainer.
The view was amazing!
We hiked to the top of the mountain to this incredible view. Janae aka Hungry Runner Girl took my picture. I was so star struck I couldn’t get up the courage to talk to her this weekend even after she snagged my phone for the picture.
Up the mountain we go. Down the mountain we tumble. Seriously, I didn’t know what I was signing up for when I decided to take the long hike. The mountain still had snow on it melting making it muddy and slippery. Coming down the mountain was treacherous. I felt like I was rock climbing and should have a harness. At times it was very steep and rocky.
We stuck together and made it to the bottom sans injury.
When we got to our rooms, I was exhausted and just wanted a nap. To my surprise, Camebak dropped us these awesome gifts. The whole weekend felt like Christmas. The gifts never stopped coming! At this point, I began to worry about packing. #bloggerproblems
So I threw everything on the bed to figure out my packing strategy.
Once I sorted that out, it was snack time provided by Kidz Shake. The protein shakes were good, but the date protein balls were delicious! I could have eaten an entire plate of them.
Then we headed to Paige‘s room where she was doing a tasting provided by Hope Dips. I discovered these at Whole Foods a few months ago. They are incredible! I love the ingredients and they taste amazing too.
Later we headed to historic Park City.
Brooke and I rocked as we waited for everyone.
Lol pic. Not only is it comedy, but it’s also funny. 🙂
We got thirsty so we went No Name Saloon.
Mesmerized by the decor!
You know your friends are bloggers when this is going on. Totally normal.
Once we updated Twitter and Instagram, we were ready to be normal again. Laura, Brooke, Ericka and I had a great time. We met more bloggers after our drinks and had dinner. We weren’t terribly hungry with all the snacks. Dinner wasn’t anything to write home about. After dinner, we headed to the hotel and everyone gathered in one of the suites for the rest of the night. The day was packed with excitement and many activities.
The next morning I woke up early and took a walk alone in the mountains. My quads were so sore from the hike the day before. I decided to skip boot camp and weight train instead. By then it was breakfast, sponsored by Yoplait and Nature Valley.
Then it was time to say good-bye.
I am so glad I had the opportunity to attend Blend Retreat. I met incredible women and made life connections with them. I only wish I had more time to meet and talk to everyone.
Thank you to all our wonderful and amazing sponsors too for hooking us up with amazing swag!
