So what exactly is Blend? Blend is friend + blogger. It’s a yearly weekend retreat for fitness & health bloggers who come together to build friendships, have fun, workout and eat good food. What Blend is not? It’s not a weekend to learn about blogging and how to blog. I think when you’re a newer blogger, you expect that and feel disappointed when you discover that’s not what the weekend’s about. What many beginner bloggers overlook though is the importance of building those blogging relationships and becoming friends with other bloggers. You need those relationships to grow your blog & get hooked up with brands. Trust me! Learning how to blog comes with practice, time & patience. Never underestimate the power of networking. With that, let’s catch up on the weekend!
I arrived in Boulder late Friday where we stayed at Chautauqua Park in cabins. Aren’t they cute?
It reminded me of staying in at my Grandma’s house.
Or my former college house. When you live with 4 girls for a weekend, it gets a little crazy and this was the good room.
I was only inside to sleep and snack. Check out all the swag and that’s not even everything.
Honestly you can’t stay inside with these views screaming at you from your backyard.
Now let’s see the food and more fun! If you’re new to Skinny Fitalicious, What I Ate Wednesday is a post I do every week showcasing my meals from one day. It’s fun to see what other people eat in a day. It’s also great motivation for me to eat balanced and create more delicious recipes!
Dinner. Friday night we had a fancy dinner. I had a cucumber & lime cocktail to start. This was delicious. It had Wanu water, lime, cucumber, mint with a splash of vodka. I need to make this at home.
Arugula salad, grilled chicken breast, roasted brussels sprouts, two potatoes & polenta for dinner. It was my first and last time trying polenta. The rest of the food was amazing. I could’ve eaten the brussels sprouts only.
Breakfast. Saturday morning we had killer bootcamp led by Taylor bright and early at 7 a.m.
Followed by a foodie’s dream breakfast.
Lunch. No time for lunch because after breakfast we hit the trails. Let me tell you, elevation was no joke. My lungs were burning! That’s me & Brooke leading our trail group in and out.
After a 3 mile hike, I had a Detour protein bar. I was getting cranky. I look mad when I’m hungry.
Dinner. Later we went to a beer festival to taste some local beers. Cheers!
We eventually decided we should eat something other than protein bars and shakes and got real food at a local Mexican place. I had the grilled chicken fajitas. Yum!
Then it was over and time to say goodbye. 🙁
Do you get cranky when you’re hungry? Have you lived with other women before? Do you have blogger friends?
Lots of Health, Food & Love,
