3 Smart Strategies To Stop Cravings So You Can Lose Weight!

WIAW…All About That Bass

August 27, 2014

Happy Hump Day!

Just a few more days until the long Labor Day weekend is here! My company gives us Friday & Monday as holidays so I have an extra long weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. I worked hard last weekend to get ahead on things so I could hang out with friends, be a shopaholic and spend as much time as I want in the gym.

Can you guys believe it’s already Labor Day?  I feel like just yesterday it was August 1st. All the days this month somehow merged together and were sucked into an abyss. After Labor Day, my mind shifts from summer to fall. Even though we don’t technically have a fall season in Arizona because it’s 100 degrees until the end of October, I still like to pretend we have one. One thing is for sure. I’m definitely NOT ready for this.

p162

As much as I love Christmas (<- it really is my favorite holiday), it’s way too early to be thinking about it. I imagine it will be here before we know it though.

Speaking of fall, I don’t even want to think about putting on a pair of jeans right now. A friend told me last week how much she loves wearing jeans even when it’s 100 degrees outside (eek!). I would be perfectly fine wearing yoga pants, a tank top and flip flops every single day.

My foot injury‘s forced me to be less active this year. Right now I feel like I’m living in someone else’s body. Only this past week, have I begun to feel like I’m getting my body back. I haven’t gained weight and all my clothes fit, but I feel a difference in my legs and tush from doing less run/walks. This probably sounds strange coming from a girl who went from a size 14 to a 2, but that’s the realness of how I feel.

So yours truly will be waiting as long as possible to skimmy into her skinny jeans. With that goal in mind, I’m watching my diet closely. Until then, I’m hiding out in dresses and reminding myself it’s “all about the bass.”

Let’s talk about something more fun than my tush now…EATS! Today Happy [What I Ate] Wednesday!

Breakfast. Egg white omelette with green peppers and a healthy dose of sriracha. I don’t eat the yolks because I think they are gross.

 p137

And a cup of coffee that I didn’t drink. I don’t know what’s going on with me, but I’ve been turned off by coffee since the beginning of summer. I’ve had a love affair with coffee for many years so it’s not like I just started drinking it recently. Lately I’ve been more interested in green tea. I still love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning though which is why I still make it.

p136

Hemp Pineapple Smoothie surprise. This smoothie is delicious! A great fall smoothie that’s loaded with vitamins A & C. You’re gonna have to wait until for the recipe to find out the surprise.

p160

Lunch. Turkey sandwich on Oroweat sandwich thin with greens and spicy brown mustard. Simple, yet filling. I love using the Oroweat thins too. I don’t love huge, thick breads for my sandwiches. I only wish they were made gluten-free.

p138

A handful of peanut butter filled pretzels. I was crazy hungry after spin class. Good thing I am able  to control my portion sizes because I could eat these forever.

p140

Snack. Apples and homemade chocolate pudding.

p139

Dinner. Spicy garlic shrimp & rice. This is a super easy dinner. It’s delish & pretty and we all know I’m into eating pretty things. I’ve been making this dish for as long as I can remember.

p169

Mint tea for my leaky gut. I’ve had stomach issues my whole life. Thankfully, Lindsay has shared so much great information that has helped me manage it.

p170

Are you ready for Christmas? What clothes do you wear when you’re not feeling like yourself? If you have leaky gut, what have you done or tried to help it?

    Love that garlic shrimp!!!
Of course I am ready for Christmas!! Ha. It is my favourite holiday so I can’t help it!!
I tend to look for probiotics when I feel bloated. They contain beneficial bacteria that control the growth of harmful bacteria that often causes bloating. On of the best sources is yoghurt but I am not sure if you eat dairy..other sources are sauerkraut, miso soup, fermented kombucha and even sourdough bread. You are looking at the fermentation process. Hope this works!

Kombucha is a great idea! I haven’t tried that. I do eat yogurt, but don’t do well with too much dairy.

The idea of wearing jeans out when it’s hotter than 75 degrees makes me cringe haha! I actually hate wearing them in general since I’ve always been a big-legged girl and have never had a pair that I felt fit me well. Also the effort that it takes to dance into a pair of skinny jeans….. that counts as my daily workout, right ;)?

Great eats! I need some homemade chocolate pudding in my life prontooooo

Jeans will forever make me feel “fat” I have gotten more into pants the past year or so but from my former fat days – every time I button up I feel constricted regardless of how lean I am. I am also a total girly girl and have a hundred dresses, it is bad.

I don’t even want to talk about Christmas, I am upset enough that pumpkin is already everywhere! and this is coming from the pumpkin obsessed!

This is the first year I am NOT dying for Christmas to come. It’s my favorite holiday but I am getting to that age where life seems to be going SO fast and I just want it to slow down! I have been dancing to that song allllllll week!
