Oh hey, friends! I'm back this week with another edition of This Is Life where I recap a full day in the life. This recap is of last Sunday!
6:15 a.m. - Dragged myself out of bed. Seriously dead tired but I couldn't sleep any longer. No idea why, I slept for 12 hours the night before?!? Black coffee with collagen and almond milk was definitely in order!
6:30 a.m. - Finished a freelance article, responded to clients in my virtual program, and finished the social media for another blog post.
7:30 a.m. - Warmed up a Good Food Made Simple Turkey Sausage Bowl. So good!
8:00 a.m. - Started getting ready for the gym.
8:15 a.m. - Left for the gym.
8:30 a.m. - Arrived at the gym. Did 20 minute TRX workout followed by 20 minute intervals on the stairclimber before teaching my class.
9:30 a.m. - Taught a sweaty and full spin class!
10:45 a.m. - Left the gym and refueled with a Vega protein bar + an apple. P.S. I'm really picky about granola and protein bars. So many of them aren't clean despite them being advertised as healthy. There's really only a handful I like. This is one of them.
11:20 a.m. - Arrived at Scottsdale Quarter to return a few things I bought at Crate & Barrel for food photography that didn't work out. It was a gorgeous day I ended up roaming around a little just to be outside. A friend was supposed to meet me for lunch, but ended up not being able to make it. I can't say I was surprised though. She kind of does that.
I ended up splurging on this Anthropologie skirt for an upcoming PR photo shoot and these shorts at Ann Taylor Loft. To my surprise, I was a size 2 in both. I honestly have no idea how I wasn't a bigger size. Since my hip surgery, I haven't felt comfortable in my body. It's coming, but slowly.
In general, I still struggle with being smaller. Body dysmorphia is something I've dealt with since my 80 pound weight loss 7 years ago. I'm not sure if I will ever realize how much smaller I am.

1:15 p.m. - Stopped at Whole Foods. There isn't one near my house so when I'm Scottsdale I always make a point to pop in. When in Rome!
I picked up these grain free chips that I've been wanting to try. They go so well with salsa. Definitely a win!
I also stumbled upon this cauliflower pizza. I texted the guy and told him we could have a bring your own pizza night. He brings his, I bring mine! He thinks I'm nuts the way I eat.
I must admit he isn't that unhealthy, but it is eye opening dating someone outside the healthy space and realizing not everyone knows about the latest food trends. I think many influencers take this for granted when they communicate to their audiences. Myself included!
2:15 p.m. - Checked out. I spent an hour in Whole Foods inspecting food and this is all I left with. Hanging out at grocery stores looking at food is fascinating to me. I could do it all day! P.S. I'm not a mushroom freak. They're for a magazine article I'm shooting this week!
2:45 p.m. Home! Unpacked, showered, hung out on the couch eating grain free chips & salsa while doing random work before dinner. The chips were so good!

5:15 p.m. Dinner was leftover lettuce wrapped Sriracha burgers with roasted cauliflower and tomatoes. Then I snacked on trail mix I picked up from Whole Foods. These burgers are gonna need a blog post 'cuz they're really good!
6:00 p.m. - Watched The Kardashians because I just can't not watch them.
7:00 p.m. - Watched The Arrangement while drinking peppermint tea. OMG, I'm totally addicted to this weird show. It's so weird, I can't stop watching it!
8:30 p.m. - Bed time. The end!
And this is life.

Yes! Always hit the Whole Foods when you are nearby; because you never know when you'll be close again. I LOVE Whole Foods so much.
Megan says
I do too, but it's so expensive.

I will take your leftover mushrooms. I dump as many as I can into my eggs everyday hahaha
Megan says
I will bring them to you this weekend! I have a TON leftover.
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
I love that you do a BYO healthy food night. I think that's how Vegas would prefer it, though I can get her to eat my cauliflower crust. I just add more cheese to hers. 😉
Megan says
That's a good idea, just cover up the veggie lol!
Susie @ Suzlyfe says
I heard about that pizza and I totally want to try it. Let me know your thoughts. I bet you look fan freaking tastic in that Anthropologie outfit! Body dysmorphia is indeed a real thing--in all directions. I have had moments of it (by moments, I mean weeks or months), but I have a pretty decent idea of my body image overall. It doesn't help when people like to make comments about "how they wish they could be tiny" or whatever. Tiny is not a compliment.
Megan says
When I was losing weight I had people make all sorts of comments to me about how thin I was. You can never win even with yourself lol!
