It may be a surprise to you, but healthy isn't always easy for me. Some days are salads and protein shakes and others are brownies and pizza. I've worked hard over the years though to develop healthy living habits. Those healthy habits have now become things I do every day to stay healthy. They keep me balanced so when I have "off" days I get right back to my healthy habits without much thought. It allows me to live as healthy as I can without feeling guilty. Here are 7 things I do every day to stay healthy and keep myself on track.
7 Things I Do Every Day To Stay Healthy
Hydrate
Every morning I fill a 65 ounce container with water (half my body weight) and dandelion tea. I know that's how much water I need to drink each day, and the container is an easy reminder for me to drink enough water to keep myself hydrated.
Drink Apple Cider Vinegar
I've talked a lot about my love of apple cider vinegar. Every morning I drink a shot of it in warm water. It wakes me up, energizes me and keeps my gut happy!

Workout
There's nothing that makes me happier to working out or doing something active every day. I'm a better person when I workout. Happier with a positive outlook. Working out makes me feel strong mentally and physically. Even when I'm recovering from injury or a recent surgery, any physical activity gets me ready to take on whatever the day has in store for me.
Eat Vegetables
Vegetables are not my favorite food, but I know how good they make me feel. They keep my body strong and fuel my workouts. I sneak them in random places so I don't notice I'm eating them. Foods like hummus, eggs, meats, salads, soups, smoothies, muffins, brownies are always game for a hidden veggie or two.

Treat Myself
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't indulge in something. Whether it's eating a 100 calorie fudge brownie, going out to lunch, watching a movie, reading a book, teaching swim lessons or texting a friend, I intentionally treat myself to something that makes me happy every day.
Sleep
Sleep is something I prioritize every day. It's non-negotiable. Every day the gadgets go off at the same time because I know if I don't get enough sleep tomorrow's going to be a bad day. I'm more anxious, I overeat (give me ALL THE CARBS!) and I have a negative attitude. Basically, you don't want to be around me without sleep. It's no good.

Take Vitamins & Probiotics
Every day I take a variety of vitamins to support my mind and body and the activities I do. We are exposed to so many variables in today's environment and foods which can put a lot of strain on the body. I can surely use all the help I can get! Recently, I've been supplementing with Vitamin C as I recover from my surgery.
Along with vitamins, I also take probiotics daily to keep me at my best and make my belly feel good!
