I usually post recipes on Tuesday, but I had to rearrange a few things on the schedule this week due to sponsored posts which as my fellow bloggers know, we don’t always have a say when those things are posted when we sign up to do them. Thank you for the interruption in the posting schedule this week and for supporting this blog!
I thought about skipping the second recipe this week, but I only posted one recipe the week I was in Munich and feeling bad about that. I also felt bad about the fact that I have 30+ recipes waitlisted to be posted. The problem is I don’t have enough time to sort through and edit 50-100 pics of each recipe to get them post ready. Food blogging’s a lot of work! Your eyes start to criss cross when you try to edit too many recipes at once. All the pics start to look the same even though there are subtle differences. I can only do a couple at a time before I go crazy. I will tell you this though. It’s very helpful to have a stockpile of recipes to pull from whenever you need them. Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a crazy cooking lady every weekend. I’m a one woman show. I have a house, a job and a thousand growing hobbies. Over the year I was injured, I cooked a lot. That’s how I’ve accumulated so many recipes. I suppose that’s another thing I’m thankful for from my injury.
This recipe I had to post after it exploded last week on Instagram. You wanna know the crazy part? None of the pictures were taken with my DSLR because I never was planning to post the recipe. I shoot all my recipes with fancy pants. It wasn’t always that way until a few months ago when I finally got comfortable with it and now it’s no biggie. Before I hated it so much I want to destroy it like that movie Office Space when they take the fax machine into the field and kill it. Yeah some technology you just want to do that with. It’s a love-hate. That was me and fancy pants. Now I’m completely in love with fancy pants. The good news about our love-hate period is shooting with my iPhone for many months helped me understand angles and lighting really well. If I hadn’t figured those things out before jumping to fancy pants, I never would’ve gotten the hang of photography. When other bloggers tell me they think buying a fancy pants is going to up their ante, I always recommend they stick to el cheapo until they see improvements in their pics. It’s like saying you’re going to run a marathon with crappy form. Make sense? Now that you’ve gotten a photography lesson let’s eat salmon. I could eat salmon every day of the week. No joke. When I got back from Europe, it was the first thing I wanted to eat (even though I had a freezer full of Italian casserole). This glaze is super easy to throw together.
