Trying to do everything on your own
I’ve lost track of how many times my boyfriend has told me to ask for help instead of trying to do everything on my own. It’s so true of my personality and of my women too.
You want to be the perfect wife, perfect teacher, perfect friend, Mom, grandma while you have the perfect house, strive to be a rockstar at work, exercise, meal prep, eat healthy, go to bed early, meditate, eat enough vegetables and drink more water everyday.
You’re trying to fit in all these things into one day and every day it keeps piling on, creating more and more overwhelm. It’s EXHAUSTING!
Meanwhile you’re beating yourself up for not going to the gym today, eating pizza for dinner and not eating enough vegetables. Then you decide you need more information or a better diet plan and take to Google to find something. Because there *must* be an easier way.
You’re not an expert in nutrition for fat loss
Reality check! You’re not an expert in nutrition or weight loss. If you had a broken tooth would you Google how to fix your broken tooth or go to the dentist? I’m betting you would go to the dentist. The same concept goes for weight loss. Instead of researching information and becoming more confused and overwhelmed ask for help!
Nutrition is a very deep and rich field and I know many people like to simplify it. Nutrition is actually not that simple when you dive into specific goals for example, fat loss. You have to have a deep understanding of metabolism, hormones, macronutrients and more to understand how to lose weight without battling cravings and ruining your metabolism.
I see women everyday in my practice who have been struggling for decades with their weight. They’re burnt out and overwhelmed with weight loss. They don’t know where to start to lose weight, get overwhelmed, throw in the towel then research more, sign up for more free challenges and $97 detox programs that only give them more information – not transformation.
If this is you, I encourage you to find someone who can support you! Find someone who can guide you, give you accountability, support and help you master the skills you need to be successful and transform.
Asking for help is not a sign of failure
Many women have the mindset that asking for help or getting help is a sign of failure. This is your mindset failing you and mindset is the missing ingredient in the vast majority of weight loss programs out there. If you’re not focusing on changing your mindset, you will always stay stuck.
Asking for help is a sign of strength. Recognizing when you need help and that you’re not an expert in something like nutrition for weight loss (which is more than eating healthy) means you can take action. It gets you out of that cycle of being stuck because when you recognize you can decide what to do.
Instead of staying stuck feeling overwhelmed with weight loss, researching more diets and detox programs that don’t give you the long term results. When you decide, you can take that action to find someone who supports you and it’s a faster path to reaching your goal when you have a powerful guide leading you.
Are you trying to do it all on your own? Do you really have time to become an expert in nutrition for weight loss? Do you have time to research everything on your own in addition to living your busy, crazy life? Do you even know what to research that will make you successful?
Information contributes to your weight loss overwhelm
Google and the internet is a great place, but it contributes to your overwhelm when it comes to your health goals. Most of what you see online is someone sharing their own personal experience. Not someone providing scientific research that backs their claims and customizing that to you.
Think about how many free challenges you’ve signed up for in the past. How many of them have you actually taken action from? I’m guessing nothing or you wouldn’t be here reading this. All the free stuff you sign up for online contributes to your overwhelm. You sign up, get a million emails then look at your email and feel even MORE overwhelmed.
Free stuff is great if you’re looking for more information. Free stuff does not gets you results.
Transformation vs. Information
Think about how many free programs, even $97 programs you’ve signed up for and never got long term results. You see those low prices points and yes, they’re really enticing. But those really only give you information. Not transformation.
If those things provided more than just information and actually provided you with transformation, you wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t be here and nobody would need me.
Getting out of the overwhelm with weight loss means recognizing that you need transformation not just information. Once you recognize this, you can stop feeling overwhelmed with all the information noise out there and start taking action to reach your goal!
