Hi Friends!
Well, things sure have been busy lately! My life is busy on the regular just between work, blogging, fitness & cooking. For some reason, when summer rolls around it always seems like things get even busier. With vacations, warm weather events and road trips I seem to be on the go, go, go in the summer which means juggling more things too! That makes eating healthy a bit more tricky and you know what? When you're busy, you need more fuel to keep your energy high. Snacking on nutritious foods to keep the immune system strong and healthy is the answer. In case you can't tell by the recipes on this blog, I sure do love me some snacks! Today I'm sharing my favorite ways to snack healthy!

Hummus + Veggies
Hummus is something I didn't discover until later in life and do I ever regret that! It's now one of my favorite foods. Eating veggies isn't always the first thing on my mind when it comes to snacking, but paired with hummus I could eat them all day. The best part? Hummus is super easy to make. Anyone can do it and you can have your own homemade hummus in less than 5 minutes.
Greek Yogurt + Berries
A protein packed snack with calcium and berries for an antioxidant boost. Grab your favorite yogurt and add nuts, nut butter, granola and fruit. The options are endless for a delicious & nutritious snack!
Snack Bars
Granola bars, snack bars, fiber bars, no bake bars I love them all! No bake bars are my go to in the summer when it's too hot to bake and I don't want to turn the oven on. They're quick to make and no fuss!
Edamame
I don't know what it is about these green little beans, but they sure are delicious and packed with tons of protein! I keep a bag in the freezer and steam in the microwave for a quick snack.
Bites
I keep my freezer stocked with many things including no-bake snack bites like these chocolate almond bites. They make a great mid-morning or afternoon when I need something sweet that will fill me up. These are fun because you can experiment making them so many different ways while keeping them nutritious too!
Popcorn
Popcorn was my all time favorite snack during my weight loss. I ate it every night. I don't eat every night anymore, but I still love buying the individual servings for something quick and salty to munch on.
Smoothies
Bust out the blender because nothing beats a smoothie. Pack it full of fruit, spinach then oats, nut butter, quinoa flakes, dates or protein powder for extra nutrition and you have yourself one winning snack. I promise you won't even notice the spinach is in there!
Muffins
As you guys know, I love my muffins! I like that I can make virtually any combination of a healthy muffin. It's so easy to pack them full of nutrition by adding veggies and fruit like these butternut squash banana chocolate chip muffins. The best part? They're already pre-portioned for your eating pleasure!
Apple + Nut Butter
Another healthy snack that I began eating when I started my weight loss and overhauled my eating. Pairing a healthy fat with a good carbohydrate like an apple or rice cake yields perfection on the satiety scale. Not to mention it's good for you too!
Almonds
Nuts are a great way to get in protein and healthy fat in your diet. I don't think a day goes by that I don't eat nuts in some form. Almonds are by far my favorite and thanks to Blue Diamond for keeping my healthy obsession going strong. My latest obsession are the new Blue Diamond Sriracha flavored almonds. They're the perfect balance of salt and spice. Bold, crunchy and bursting with flavor! I've long been a lover of Sriracha so these were right up my alley. If you like Sriracha, you will surely love these. They're crazy delicious!

So many yummy snack ideas! You've got the right idea with making things ahead and freezing them. I've got to start doing that to keep me from snacking on readily available junk. I also LOVE making hummus, I keep tons of chickpeas in my cupboards for everything these days!
Megan says
You need to try Erin! It's a huge lifesaver for me. I would probably eat crap all the time if I didn't have a stash of healthy things on hand.
jill conyers says
We eat the same snacks! Although, I do need to stock more bites in the freezer. Hummus is one of the best foods ever. Yes, Sriracha lover here!
Megan says
Mine is running low too. Thankfully making bites is very easy.

I haven't been snacking much lately for some reason my appetite is MIA but cucumber slices + hummus or roasted carrots are a favorite!
Megan says
My appetite has been MIA too. My snacks have been very few. I think it's because I haven't been feeling the best.

Nuts or trail mix, fruit and dark chocolate have been my go-to snacks lately. To be honest - I have never tried siracha. So many people seem to love it though!

Anything with almond butter has my heart and putting it in oatmeal is like dessert. Sometimes I throw a few chocolate chips in for fun. 😉
