If you’re been reading SF for awhile, then you know I’m the fashionista of fitness apparel. Activewear makes up a huge part of my wardrobe collection. I’m always on the hunt for fresh, new and trendy workout gear. I’ve learned from past experience that I’m more motivated to workout if I look good and feel good. If I feel ugly, fat or frumpy in my clothes, my workouts suffer because I’m distracted by how I’m feeling. That’s why I make the investment in fitness apparel I love and that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to wear outside the gym. You don’t need a entire closet full of expensive activewear, just a few pieces that make you feel amazing because you are and you deserve it! When I was asked to visit the newly remodeled women’s department at Dick’s Sporting Goods, I was thrilled. Me and shopping? You don’t need to ask me twice!
When I entered the store, I was greeted with bright colors and trendy designs. The store was well lit and complimented the fashion styles. Good lighting also made it easy to spot pieces that appeal to me. Don’t you hate it when you’re in a store and it’s so dark you can’t tell if the pants are black or navy? That wasn’t a problem at Dick’s. It was bright and the clothing was organized in a manner that made it easy to quickly navigate to racks I was interested in exploring. Can I have those models arms please?
The day I visited the store they were having a massive sale. Score! The clearance racks were strategically placed in the middle of the store so they were the first thing you encountered when you walked in the door. The racks were organized by size which I really like. A lot of times clearance racks are jammed in the middle of new apparel or in the back of the store making it hard to find and they’re always a mess. It’s impossible to find anything. At Dick’s, it was easy to bargain hunt and snag deals on all the cute stuff.
The women’s department is sectioned off by brand another thing I love. Each section has banners with the brand name and activity related to the apparel making it easy to maneuver and find what you’re looking for. I personally prefer shopping in a place that’s neat and organized so I can be efficient with my time and finding what I need without feeling like I’m on a scavenger hunt. The brands I spotted are ones I regularly purchase and what you would expect to see at a sporting goods store like Dick’s: Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Under Armour. I even spotted a few new brands like Lucy that I never saw before at Dick’s. I love Lucy, but there’s not a store near where I live so I never buy it. I was excited to see that Dick’s is now carrying the brand.
I also stumbled upon a new to me brand, Calia by Carrie Underwood. Although I had heard of her new line a few months ago, it was my first time seeing it up close and personal in a store. So of course I had to take a closer look and inspect everything. I loved so many of her pieces! The capris and tanks were stylish with unique patterns and colors. Calia also has sweaters, scarves and dresses for everyday made with the same activewear material. There were so many things I wanted to buy, I didn’t know where to begin! How cute is that blush scarf? I definitely need that. Once it cools down in Phoenix, guaranteed I’ll be back for that!
