Listening to my body is something I’ve been working hard on this year. Since the car accident which I can’t believe has almost been a year, I’ve been taking it very easy. After the cycle of injuries in 2014 and 2015, I did not have the mental capacity to deal with more which is why I stuck to cycling, swimming and weights for 6 months post crutches. I didn’t even do the elliptical until recently. I didn’t want to change my routine until I felt a 100% and told myself my body would tell me when it was ready to do more.
For those who know me, this is BIG deal because I love to workout. Really I just like jamming to music and escaping the world. Honestly, I feel like I should get a medal for holding myself back and staying in shape.
Last week I woke up and my body told me it was time to walk and that’s just what we did. If you’ve read my story, you know walking is near and dear to my heart. That walk gave me more joy than I’ve felt in months. I can’t say I felt the same way the next morning when I woke up and felt sore, but I couldn’t be mad. I was just too happy to finally have my walking legs back.
If you’re new to Skinny Fitalicious, What I Ate Wednesday is a post I do every week showcasing my meals from one day. It’s motivational to see what other people eat in their day and also inspires me to eat balanced and to continue creating more delicious recipes for you!
Breakfast. My post workout protein. Vega sent me their new clean plant-based protein to try. Checkout this ingredient lineup -> pea, hemp, alfalfa and pumpkin. The nutrition is awesome as usual too. Watch for a recipe and giveaway next month!
Lunch. Was a tomato chicken salad. I’ve been craving tomatoes big time lately!
Dinner. Brown rice with chicken, tomatoes and artichokes. It looks like a bowl of mush, but it’s really good!
