I lost 80 pounds. I lost 80 pounds. I lost 80 pounds. To this day, I have to say this to myself multiple times to make myself believe it and realize I’m not dreaming. To this day, I can’t believe I’ve accomplished my life long goal of weight loss. Even now, many years later, I still see myself as that “fat” girl. Sometimes I put an old bra next to one I wear now as a visual reminder of how I’ve transformed my body. A friend used to joke with me that he was going to trace my body with chalk on the sidewalk to show me just how small I really am.
When people ask me how I lost 80 pounds, the first thing they always want to know is what foods I had to give up in order to lose weight. I find this question harder and harder to answer every time someone asks me it. The reason it’s so hard for me to answer is because I didn’t give up anything. You see I believe many look for a shortcut to weight loss and there just isn’t one. During my weight loss, I didn’t give up anything. I cut back on food, watched my portions and exercised, but I never gave up eating certain things. I love to eat. I love to cook. I love to indulge. Losing 80 pounds, I discovered I didn’t need to sacrifice deliciousness in order to meet my goal. If there’s one trick to weight loss I’ve discovered, it’s finding foods you can indulge in to make you feel satisfied. With products like Skinny Cow®, it makes indulgence truly possible.
Although I’ve lost weight (besides those pesky few pounds I want to lose from injury), I’m still monitoring what I eat to this day to be sure I get my delicious indulgence with going overboard. The truth is I’m a busy girl always on the go, go, go. I work, I blog, I workout and I do a thousand other things in between. Finding foods I can grab ‘n’ run with to get me through the day is extremely important to me. Just when I thought I didn’t like coffee anymore, I discovered Skinny Cow’s insanely indulgent Creamy Iced Coffee drinks. They are perfect for me to grab on my way out the door in the morning on my way to the gym. A decadent blend of rich roasted coffee whipped with creamy milk, this caffeine buzz is everything I need to start my day. The new beverages are available now in three delicious flavors: Vanilla Latte, Mocha Latte & Creamy Cappuccino in the refrigerated section in Walmart.
At noon, just when my day is at the peak of crazy, I need something sweet to finish my lunch. I’ve learned through my weight loss by indulging in something small after lunch I ward off the afternoon sugar monster and avoid overeating. The NEW Skinny Cow® Blissful Truffle Candy Bar, which comes in two flavors – Milk and Dark Chocolate is my lunchtime dessert. They’re the newest addition to the Skinny Cow line of chocolate candies. The bars are rich, a chocolate lovers dream. The dark chocolate is amazing!
Once I’m home from work, I have dinner then indulge in a nightly snack. While losing weight, I learned that having a small sweet after dinner I avoided eating anything else. In the past, I would hoard a bag of chips and eat until the sunrise. I broke that habit by eating a small sweet every night after dinner. That indulgent habit has stuck with me all these years. My small something usually consists of a frozen snack, a smoothie or fruit with yogurt. Now that the heat’s really turned up in Arizona, a frozen snack has been my pick of choice. The indulgent Skinny Cow® Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Bars feature three rich new flavors — creamy Vanilla Almond Crunch, decadent Double Caramel Swirl and Triple Chocolate Ripple. Skinny Cow® Vanilla Almond Crunch Bar has been my latest obsession! Anything with nuts has my heart.
