Today I have an easy recipe for Carrot Fries & talking about Making Meals Effortless with one of my favorite hacks!
I think I might be the only person in the world who loves shopping for food. It’s something I look forward to every week. I actually get a little sad when I’m away and can’t do it. I’d shop for food everyday if I could. It’s really my happy place. But when I get home with my haul, I’m not so much in my happy place because I know the real work is about to begin!
Something I began doing years ago when I lost weight and began eating healthy was prep all my food in advance. That means when I get home from the store, I wash, chop and store any and all produce I’ve purchased before going about the rest of my day. By doing this one simple thing, I’ve been able to reduce my cooking time throughout the week and also guarantee I eat all the good stuff. I love it when everything’s ready to go so I can drop it into a pan and cook my little heart away.
One thing I don’t like, is a messy kitchen. It makes me crazy! The only person in the world who I know likes to clean is my Mother, but she doesn’t live with me and apparently I didn’t inherit that gene. The other reason I like prepping all my food right away is so I can make one mess at once and get it over with! That does mean a lot of dirty dishes and counter space to contend with when I’m done. That’s where Green Works Pump ‘N Clean saves the day!
Over the years, I’ve not paid much attention to the type of cleaning products I buy. After being diagnosed with HA and estrogen deficiency, I’ve become more aware of the type of products I buy. Now I buy products containing fewer chemicals. Several months ago, I discovered Clorox’s line of Green Works at Target which is a line of plant and mineral-based cleaning product with ingredients that are naturally derived.
While I was cruising the natural product aisle at Target stocking up on some of my Green Works favorites, I spotted the new Green Works Pump ‘N Clean and was immediately intrigued. Not only does the product clean kitchen surfaces, but it cleans your gadgets too. How many times have you tossed a cutting board or knife into the dishwasher only to find it’s still saturated with gunk after it’s done running through the cycle? That always happens to me! With Clorox Pump ‘N Clean I can, I can scrub my dishes then wash worry free!
I also love that I can prep all my fruits and veggies using one board without using any harmful chemicals or residues. All I have to do is easily wipe my board clean before prepping the next round of fruits and vegetables. Don’t worry it’s safe around them. One safety tip though. Always be sure to use a new cutting board and knife for meats and fish. You can never be too safe when it comes to them! Also, the Pump ‘N’ Clean is not to be used with raw meat or fish either.
Now let’s make some fries! One of my favorite things to make in the summer are carrot fries. They’re easy to make, a great way to sneak in extra veggies and trick the kiddos into eating them too! The recipe’s so simple, you won’t believe it! Just follow the steps below.
- Grab your cutting board, peeler, knife and a 1 lb bag of carrots
- Clean, peel & chop into ~1 inch pieces
- Preheat oven 400 degrees
- Place carrots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Season with pepper, italian seasoning & sea salt
- Bake 30 minutes until tender
- Remove from oven & enjoy!
