For a long time, living healthy wasn't that was important to me. Before weight loss, I ate pizza and fast food multiple times a week and inhaled a bag of chips every night before bed. I didn't cook and fitness was the farthest thing from my mind. If it hadn't been for the day that I started walking, I wouldn't know how much better life can be healthy.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to me because I've discovered I am the BEST version of me when I eat right, exercise and balance work with play. BUT it hasn't always been easy particularly, in the food department. So today I'm sharing How I Live Healthy.
Eat A Big Breakfast
Eating a big, hearty breakfast every morning always sets a healthy tone for the day. The better I eat in the morning, the better I eat the rest of the day.
Meal Prep
At the end of the week I plan my meals for the following week and make a grocery list from it. The week days are too busy to worry about what I'm cooking. Having a weekly plan makes it a 1000x easier to eat healthy because you're sugar crash can't get in the way of your brain.
Drink
The H20 kind of drinking. I keep a water bottle on me at all times with lemon to keep me hydrated and motivate me to drink water all day long.
Treat Yourself
Some people are meal eaters, some people are snackers. I'm the later. I'm always hungry which can be dangerous for someone who has a tendency to overeat so I make it a habit to keep healthy snacks around or on me when I'm out so I have plenty of options.
Plan The Day
Each morning I log my meals in an app so I know what and how much I'm eating that day. I allow for flexibility by leaving the snack amount unaccounted for, but my meals are usually planned. Tracking calories is what's worked best for me.
Exercise
Not everyday has to be a hard core workout, but I try to do something active everyday. Go for a walk, hike, swim, bike, go to the gym, something other than exercising my fingers.
Stress Less
I'm getting better at stressing less and listening to my body, taking down time and sleeping more when I need it, BUT it is still and probably always will be a struggle.
Take Time For Me
Whether it's getting outside or treating myself to a pedicure or massage, doing something intentional for me is good for my attitude, mind, body and soul.
My Freezer Is My Best Friend
I keep my freezer filled with good food. I always have homemade soups, pancakes, muffins and bars in it along with a good stash of frozen fruit, protein, nuts and frozen meals for when I'm short on time. Not every meal has to be a home cooked meal.
Meals like Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers make last minute cooking convenient and delicious! All Healthy Choice meals are made with real ingredients with no preservatives that contain a mix of vitamins, nutrients and protein. Healthy Choice is the only major brand in the frozen meals section that can call 100% of its products “healthy” as approved by the FDA.
Unlike other frozen meals, Healthy Choice Café Steamers’ feature a unique tray-in-tray steam cooking method that delivers fresh-tasting meals with crisp vegetables and juicy proteins. This lets you pour your own sauce, determining how much or how little flavor you want to add to the meal. Because the ingredients aren't frozen in the sauce, they have a more fresh, vibrant taste.
Find Healthy Choice Café Steamers in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store and visit Healthy Choice to learn more about their products!

I usually keep plenty of frozen fruit in my freezer to make smoothies with! I'm also known to have muffins stored in there. Such a convenient option when you want something fresh and quick!

YEAH for muffins in the freezer! Mine is exploding with them now. Haha!

The stressing less part is always the hardest for me! I really need to work on making that more of a priority.

It's hard. I think we all go through cycles of lower/higher stress too.

I think sleep and hydration are the two most important pieces of living a healthy life. Exercise and nutrition are important too but if you don't sleep or hydrate, it is hard to have good workouts and make healthy food choices. Great tips!!
Megan says
Very good point Taylor!
