The update on my foot injury – yesterday I had my Orthopedic appointment and…I’m walking people! I’ve graduated to a new splint. My ankle is weak and feels as if it could easily roll side to side. The doctor advised me to start walking with it right away. I no longer have a bigfoot.
The plan is for me to start physical therapy to strengthen my foot. He gave me a steroid injection for the inflammation. That was not much fun. 🙁
He wants me to begin increasing my fitness when I feel ready. How will I know when I’m ready? When the cycle instructor has the class stand-up out of the saddle in class, I’ve remained seated the last three weeks to let my foot heal. However, the last few days I noticed my foot wanted me to get up and do more. I got out of the saddle a few times to test it out. I couldn’t do it much because it’s not strong enough yet.
He’s turning me loose so watch out! Jokes aside, I’m not ready to run, stairclimb or jump on an elliptical anytime soon. I’m walking like a turtle. Even my 60-year-old mother is passing me up! For now, I’m sticking to my swimming and cycling until my foot tells me it can handle more.
Yesterday Mom surprised with me this V-Day gift of towels and they’re PINK!!!
Later we went to Last Chance – a Nordstrom bargain store which was insane.
Then we enjoyed a healthy dinner outside at True Food Kitchen. It’s crazy hot right now in Arizona….supposed to be a record of 87 today! WHAT?!?
Stay warm and enjoy your Saturday.
