Blogger to Author Podcast

Published: Aug 10, 2017 · Modified: Aug 3, 2023 by Megan

Hello friends! How's the week going? I have exciting news to share today! I had the privilege of being on the Blogger to Author Podcast!

Last month, my friend Beth reached out to me and asked if I'd be on her podcast to discuss my first book, Ditch The Diet. Beth and I met in person last year at a conference where were roommates, and got to know each other. She is incredibly sweet! Also, for those who don't know I have two books, Living Beyond The Scale and Ditch The Diet. Living Beyond The Scale is a follow up to Ditch The Diet.

In this Blogger to Author Podcast episode, Megan Olson discusses how & why she wrote her book, Ditch The Diet & the advice she has for other authors.

Blogger To Author Podcast

In Beth's podcast, I talk about why I wrote my book, how long it took me to write it and what lessons I learned along the way. So if you're a blogger thinking about publishing a book (which I highly recommend!), take a few minutes to listen. There's some important takeaways I wish someone had told me before I wrote my book.

Ditch The Diet

Now if you're not a blogger, I still recommend you listen to the podcast. Why? Because there's something for everyone to learn from the podcast. Many of the lessons I talk about in the podcast apply to everyday life. One being that you should never fear asking for help. Whether your goal is to write a book, learn how to cook, lose weight, run a 5k, whatever, asking for help in reaching your goals makes achieving it so much easier.

Often, I'm of the mindset that I can do everything on my own. But if there's one lesson I've learned in life, it's that I can't do it all. There have been many times I've thought to myself, I wish I wasn't as stubborn as I am because many aspects of my life would have been so much easier if I just asked someone to help me.

Blogger To Author Book

As a side note, Beth recently came out with her second book, Blogger to Author which details how to turn a blog content into a book. The book details about everything from creating a reader avatar to the specifics of designing and publishing a book. Considering she just had a baby late last year and knowing what goes into writing and publishing a book, I'm in awe that she did this.

If you’ve ever thought about writing a book or even if you haven’t, this book is a great resource to get you started.
