Last Sunday my friend Teresa and I went to AZ women's (<--ultimate) expo in Phoenix. I wanted to see the keynote speakers since I saw the billboard during rush hour traffic a few weeks ago. It also advertised shopping which is my thing always. So when I got a text informing me I won free tickets I had no excuse not to go. #shopaholic
The expo ran all weekend. We chose to go on Sunday. Since I'm still recovering from my foot injury, I didn't want to over do it being on my feet especially as I've been increasing my fitness activity and intensity.
The expo offered personal care services like massages, pedicures, makeovers, hair styling.
There were many workshops like this one on cake decorating.
As well as classes and DIY's like Taste of Home Cooking.
As for shopping, they had running shoes. #running #run
A few risque things even.
We found candy too, which we quickly ran away from. I'm breaking up with sugar for awhile. #sugaraddict
Then we found alcohol.
Lots of alcohol. At least it was skinny girl. Totally my thing in case you hadn't noticed the name of my blog. 🙂
If you haven't tried it, it's good stuff and figure friendly! #nerdalert #skinnygirl
Teresa introduced me to Sparkling Ice. Holly delicious and zero calories!
I never tried it. So we sampled every flavor. My favorites were lemonade, pineapple and this strawberry watermelon. I will be looking for this on my next Target run. #sparkling #ice
As for the keynote speakers. We first saw Melissa Gilbert. You may remember her from that western show Little House on the Prairie. She informed us that she moved from CA to MI because she was tired of keeping of with the women of Hollywood.
She talked about "womanhood" i.e. women being advocates for each other. I really liked what she said about this. Too many people are tearing each other down. It's hard enough to get through this world. No one needs that adds stress. We're all facing our own challenges and need all the positive support and encouragement we can get.
Then for the woman I really came to see Vikki Gunvalson. You may know her from the Bravo hit show The Real Housewives of Orange County. #RHOOC I don't watch much tv. In fact, the only tv I watch these days are The Bravo Housewives and Vikki is one of my favorites. She's successful, driven (runs multiple businesses), morally solid and incredibly funny.
Vikki discussed PAIN.
P - People. Surround yourself with good people who are positive & supportive
A - Action. Take action to make you want in your life happen
I - Integrity. Believe in who you are, what you stand for & your morals
N - No. Learn to say no
Vikki stressed the importance of setting personal goals and checking them quarterly to stay on track. I love this. Like Vikki, I'm a goal person and I believe goals apply to every aspect of life - personal, financial, health, fitness and career.
Vikki's speech really inspired me. While I've been focused on revitalizing my fitness and setting new health goals. She made me realize I need to begin setting goals for my new career and finding a mentor.
Have you been to a women's expo? Do you set goals? What is one goal you would like to work towards this year?
Watch for another my post later today for another giveaway. Have a great day!

I've never been to a women's expo, but I've attended a few health and wellness shows that were a lot of fun. Love the atmosphere of those places 🙂 And I'd have to say that the biggest goal I'm working towards right now is setting up my health coaching business. I've got my certification, so it's time to start practicing. Eep!
