Two days without internet. Two whole days last week. I’m really having bad luck when it comes to technology lately. Am I the only one these things happen to? I’m totally dependent on it now for school and blogging. The culprit was a home security router gone bad. Let me tell you, those were the longest two days of my life! I almost didn’t survive. Okay, I’m being dramatic but still. Thank goodness for wine, coffee and free Starbucks wifi!
It did make me wonder how we ever survived without the internet? We are dependent on it for everything these days. I remember in college having to go to the computer lab to write papers and check email. I probably sound ancient saying that, but it’s true. There was a time when technology did not dictate our lives. I also remember driving my car without a cell phone. Today I wouldn’t think of leaving home without it. Modern technology is convenient, but it comes with a price and that price is dependency.
The good news is my internet is up and running, I cleaned my house top to bottom and now have even more delicious recipes ready to share with you! Speaking of food, I’m sharing my food today, a day without internet. If you’re new to Skinny Fitalicious, What I Ate Wednesday is a post I do every week showcasing my meals from one day. It’s motivational to see what other people eat in their day and also inspires me to eat balanced and to continue creating more delicious recipes for you!
Breakfast. Cauliflower kale frittata. No internet meant I had time to make a proper breakfast during the week and this was a recipe I had been thinking about making for weeks. Recipe coming this Friday!
And breakfast wouldn’t be complete without some carbs. Today was perfectly fried coconut oil plantains.
Lunch. Quick salad of leftovers. Kale, tuna, red peppers and balsamic.
After an early lunch, I went to Starbucks to work for a couple hours. To my surprise, the people of Starbucks were drinking wine. They were prepping for the new happy hour some of the Starbucks are now doing. I’m not sure how I feel about wine at Starbucks, but on this particular day I would’ve gladly accepted it.
While I worked I snacked on an apple, Paleo granola and sipped on green tea.
Dinner. I was at Starbucks very late so I picked up take out from my favorite restaurant down the street. Their spicy chicken wrap (minus the wrap) was delicious as always. I must figure out how to make this!
Are you technology dependent? How would you get by without internet?
