As you know, I’ve had a lot of new things going on in 2016. Life now is not what it used to be and it’s taken a lot of adjustment. The upside is it has also offered me flexibility in my schedule. That said, some days it feels a lot like a juggling act keeping up with everything I’ve got going on. In some ways, I feel busier now than when I was working a full time job. So recently I documented one of my days recently to show you A Day In A Healthy & Active Life!
4:15 am: Alarm goes off, read and comment on a few blogs. Pack up my gear in the 2016 Rav4 Toyota lent me for the week and head to the gym.
5:00 am: 45 minute freestyle and drills in my happy place. The most peaceful part of my day!
6:00 am: I shower and change then lift weights for 45 minutes. Lots of weights. It’s chest and biceps day! My friend the mayor asks why I’m driving a Toyota and not my regular car (we park next to each other) and I tell him Toyota asked me to try out their new 2016 Rav4. He tells me how much he LOVES the color. I told him I need a car in bright pink. Haha!
7:15 am: I leave the gym, pack up the Toyota and drink a Vega protein shake on the way home.
7:30 am: I’m home, unpack my gym gear, change clothes, throw in a load of laundry, start dinner in the crockpot then make breakfast which is a veggie omelette with coffee. I need coffee!
8:00 am: I eat, read a couple blogs, Instagram and answer emails before reviewing homework assignments for the week in the online portal. I have 5 chapters to read, four discussion questions to answer, two essays to write and 4 assignments. My head spins as I think about the homework, CPT studying and job hunting I need to do this week not to mention blogging. Yikes!
8:30 am: I’m still hungry so I warm up leftover cranberry apple crockpot oatmeal that I made over the weekend and pour another cup of coffee. I begin to tackle homework while I eat.
11:30 am: I work on a photo shoot for an upcoming recipe. The crockpot made the recipe while I worked and it’s ready to go! I setup, style the food and shoot. Done!
12:00 pm: I’m starving! I make green tea and heat up lunch, a grilled chicken salad.
1:00 pm: It’s a beautiful day and I need to get outside to clear my thoughts so I pack up and drive to the mountains for a 30 minute hike.
2:30 pm: Arrive at Starbucks, my new place to work/study in the afternoon. The fresh air rejuvenated me and I have my second wind. I’m on a roll! I finish an essay, two discussions questions, one assignment, edit photos for a recipe and spend the rest of the time studying metabolic systems for my personal training exam. Odd enough that’s what I’m studying in my nutrition course this week. I eat a muffin and an apple and sip on more green tea while I work.
4:30 pm: I text my trainer Jody to confirm my Pilates session for the next day before I forget.
5:00 pm: I try to leave Starbucks, but traffic is backed up from an accident so I go next door to Target to kill time. That’s much happier than waiting in traffic.
5:30 pm: Leave Target. And because I can never find everything I need at one store, I stop at Sprouts and Walmart on the way home too. Errands are not my favorite thing to do, but the Toyota made it easy with all the added room in the back.
6:30 pm: I’m home. Unpack groceries, get the mail and warm up the photo shoot leftovers for dinner.
7:00 pm: I change into comfy clothes, sit on the couch with the computer and sip on peppermint tea while finishing blog work, scheduling social media posts, Instagram-ing, answering more emails and eating an orange. I watch the latest episode of Younger, my new favorite show.
8:30 pm: I’m exhausted and can barely stay awake. I crawl into bed and pass out. The end!
