Hi Friends!
Today officially marks day one of my long weekend! I have so much fun planned for the weekend. Besides the usual cooking and fitness shenanigans, tomorrow I’m meeting Nikki, a Women’s Health Magazine’s Next Fitness Star Finalist from Scottsdale. How fun does that sound? I only hope I can squeeze in everything I want to do this weekend and still find time for zen and rest!
With 4th of July just two days away, I thought it would be fun to share some heathier recipe options for the upcoming long weekend. Since it is a holiday, it’s perfectly normal to indulge. I like to pair healthier options to my menu when I know I have a fun filled weekend ahead of me to keep things in balance. So today I’m presenting you with 15 healthier foods for your 4th of July and don’t worry I’ve got plenty of desert for you!

I thought my July 4th menu was set but now I think I NEED to add the jalapeno hummus. Yum! And maybe the zucchini oat chocolate chip cookies.
Have a fantastic Thursday Megan! xoxo
That hummus you will love and the cookies too!
I’ll be heading to LA and visiting friends. My husband and I are really excited about this trip. Our schedules have been off so it will be nice to get out of town and reconnect 🙂
It’s nice to get away and escape life for a bit. It rejuvenates and re-motivates us. Hope you have a great time!
So many good recipes here!!! your photos always make me hungry 🙂
Thanks girl! Pictures can make me crazy. It helps to hear someone thinks they look good. 🙂
Hi Megan! I’m still planning out what to buy and make for the Fourth, so this list is very helpful. 🙂 Happy Thursday! Enjoy your long weekend.
So far, I have turkey burgers in the freezer and watermelon in the fridge. I can’t decide on the rest. Too many good options!
I’m coming over for healthy snacks!! That salmon looks fantastic. I hope to get some peach ice cream and eat lots of zoodles and guacamole. Lol I’m so random. Your weekend sounds fantastic. Have a great time
That is really random food, but it all sounds really good! Anything peach right now or citrus I can’t get enough of.
You’re healthy options looks so amazing for the 4th, I could probably eat triple!! Haha. Back home in Canada (Canada Day was yesterday) we would always fire up the BBQ to make something healthy to enjoy, like chicken salad, or roasted veggies. My aunt would make angel food cake with Cool Whip and berries…chemicals, but yum!! Haha. Have a wonderful holiday!
