Hi Guys! Happy Sunday!
I have good news and I a little bad news.
The good news is my ankle‘s healed. I had it re-imaged this week and the doctor gave me the clear to start doing a few weight-bearing things. I can start walking and stair climbing 30 minutes every other day at the gym along with my PT stuff (low impact stuff). For the next week, I need to wear the boot outside the house. After that I can ween to half days. Then if all goes well I will be done with it for good! It’s feeling great, but that’s the part that scares me. I usually don’t feel the hurt until it REALLY hurts. I’m optimistic it’s going to heal though. It feels good & very strong even after being immobolized. Actually I’m surprised how good it feels compared to my never ending foot injury last year. I’m not looking forward to the work I have ahead of me fighting to get my long-distance endurance back. Will it ever? Is the question in the back of my mind.
Now for a little bad news. I injured my elbow last month and didn’t deal with it. It’s gotten very bad. I can’t lift a water bottle with my left hand, open a door, turn the steering wheel of my car, hold my phone. You know the regular every day life stuff you take for granted. I write with my right hand, but otherwise I do everything with my left hand. It’s been a major inconvenience. Finally I had it looked at last week when I saw the orthopedic for my ankle and now getting treatment. More updates to come on the elbow situation tomorrow.
Hope you have an awesome and relaxing Sunday. See you back tomorrow for Monday muffins. Go Packers!!!
